uefa.com rounds up the reaction to the UEFA Cup first-round draw.

FK Austria Wien v BV Borussia Dortmund
Matthias Sammer, Dortmund coach:

Austria Wien are an interesting name and a challenge. Certainly for us and our supporters the journey to Vienna is more comfortable than it would have been to Donetsk. This only counts for the distance not the difficulty of the match.

Günter Kronsteiner, Austria sport director:
We are very pleased that we have drawn Dortmund in the first round, They are a very attractive opponent. We still see a small chance for us to get through.

Dundee FC v AC Perugia
Giovanni Di Stefano, Dundee director:

We're very excited to draw Perugia. It's a great draw, fantastic. They are not to be underestimated. We are looking to take as many fans as we can and we hope Perugia will do the same as well.

Gençlerbirligi SK v Blackburn Rovers FC
Richard Matthewman, Blackburn Rovers vice-chairman:

It is new territory for us as we haven't played a Turkish side before. We are pleased that we have been drawn away for the first leg and then we will know what we need to do when we come back to Blackburn.

Sporting Clube de Portugal v Malmö FF
Eurico Gomes, Sporting secretary:

The first match is at home in the new stadium, which will be very good. We had many good matches in the old Alvalade stadium, and I hope this passes on to the new stadium.

NK Dinamo Zagreb v MTK Hungária
Ferenc Fülöp, MTK director:
I am not happy with the draw at all. Geographically things are fine as we only have to travel to Zagreb. We really hoped to have a good draw against a team from one of the larger footballing nations, but once again the UEFA Cup draw has not been kind to us. Dinamo are a strong team in European competitions traditionally, and they will be very difficult opponents.

1. FC Kaiserslautern v FK Teplice
Eric Gerets, Kaiserslautern coach:

Liverpool FC v NK Olimpija Ljubljana
Rick Parry, Liverpool chief executive:
It is something of a journey into the unknown in that we have never played in Slovenia before but at least we can find the city on the map. It should be a tough match but it's an exciting time of the season with the adrenalin flowing.

Southampton FC v FC Steaua Bucuresti
Rupert Lowe, Southampton chairman:
Steaua will be a team who our fans will know. My knowledge of European football has grown just being here and it's a match which we will go out and do our best to win. We've added some new faces during the summer and we are delighted to be in the competition and to play our part and to go as far as we can.

Ferencvárosi TC v FC København
Gábor Várszegi, Ferencváros chairman:

FCK are undoubtedly a very good club and team. It is a good draw for us in the sense that we have a good competitive match which is what the spectators really want, but when you look at the pots we would have preferred an opponent from one of the larger nations no matter how difficult the game would have been.

Hertha BSC Berlin v Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski
Dieter Hoeness, Hertha general manager:

ŠKM Púchov v FC Barcelona
Frank Rijkaard, Barcelona coach:

I must say I don’t have a clue about our opponents - I have never heard of them and that's quite dangerous because, as Slovakian football is less renowned than Spanish, we will be expected to win without breaking sweat and that's risky because it won't be like that.

Hamburger SV v FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk
Kurt Jara, Hamburg coach:

AJ Auxerre v Neuchâtel Xamax FC
Jean-Claude Hamel, Auxerre president:

It is good because we are playing against our neighbours. Neuchâtel is very near to Auxerre. I prefer to play in Switzerland than go to Ukraine or Turkey. It is better for the players. I don't know much about the team of Neuchatel, but my coach Guy Roux knows about them.

Villarreal CF v Trabzonspor
Fernando Roig, Villarreal president:

We are just happy to be in the draw, which was unexpected. What I don't like is playing first at home and then the second leg abroad. It will be a very tough trip to Turkey.

Yilmaz Yusuf Ziya, Trabzonspor general secretary:
Spanish teams are very strong normally but we have also had success in the past. Villarreal are from the best league so we have to be careful but we also have some good players.

FC Schalke 04 v NK Kamen Ingrad
Rudi Assauer, Schalke general manager:
I've never heard the name of this club. But we will get to know and meet them soon.
