• It was a glorious start to life for the team who won Austria's first football championship in 1911/12. The side went on to lift seven of the next ten league titles, asserting themselves as the dominant force in Austrian soccer until well into the 1950s.

• Became the first Austrian club to play in European competition as they took part in the inaugural European Champion Clubs' Cup, reaching the quarter-finals before defeat by AC Milan. They got to the semi-finals in 1960/61 only to come up against SL Benfica who proceeded to win the tournament.

• Landed back-to-back Austrian titles in 1981/82 and 1982/83 and made it to a first European final in 1985, succumbing to Everton FC. They returned to the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup showpiece in 1996 but again failed to pick up the trophy, being denied by Paris Saint-Germain.

• Ended a nine-year wait for the championship with their 31st in 2004/05 and collected the trophy again three years later. Failed to secure a first cup since 1995 when losing the final to derby rivals FK Austria Wien 3-1 in 2005.
