AIK match brings up PSV treble century

PSV Eindhoven will be aiming for a victory to crown reaching a footballing milestone and embellish an imposing unbeaten home record when AIK visit in Group F.

PSV Eindhoven are defending one of the longest unbeaten home runs in European football as they take on AIK in UEFA Europa League Group F in their 300th UEFA competition fixture.

Previous meetings
• The sides are meeting for the first time and this is also AIK's first game against a Dutch side.

• PSV's four previous encounters with Swedish opponents have ended W2 D0 L2 (W1 D0 L1 at home – W1 D0 L1 in Sweden). In their most recent encounter they beat Helsingborg IF home and away in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup round of 32.

Match background
• This will be PSV's 300th game in UEFA competition – their previous 299 ended W133 D68 L98 and include wins in the 1978 UEFA Cup and 1988 European Champion Clubs' Cup finals.

• PSV are unbeaten in 21 European home games (W15 D6) since a 3-1 defeat by Liverpool FC in the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League group stage. Ominously for AIK, the Dutch club have scored 12 goals, without conceding, in the course of their last two continental home fixtures.

• PSV have topped their group in all previous UEFA Europa League campaigns, remaining undefeated each time. The matchday one defeat by FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk was their only one in 20 group games in the competition.

• Solna-based AIK have been alternating away wins and defeats in Europe since the start of the season, beating FH Hafnarfjördur and PFC CSKA Moskva (and keeping clean sheets), but losing at KKS Lech Poznań and SSC Napoli without scoring. If that pattern continues in Eindhoven, they are due to win.

Team facts
• AIK and BSC Young Boys have conceded seven goals in their two group stage games – more than any other sides in the competition.

• PSV boast Swedish talent in the form of forward Ola Toivonen, who played for Degerfors IF, Örgryte IS and Malmö FF before heading to the Netherlands. While at Malmö, he played alongside AIK defender Robert Åhman-Persson in 2008.

• PSV's Canada defender Atiba Hutchinson also played in Sweden, representing Östers IF and Helsingborgs IF.

• Advocaat took over for a second spell as PSV coach in the summer, having won a league title and a Dutch Cup in his first spell from 1995-98. Once a journeyman midfielder, 'The Little General' has since won two Scottish doubles with Rangers FC, and a league title and a UEFA Cup with Zenit as well as coaching the Dutch, South Korean, Belgian and Russian national teams.

• AIK coach since December 2010, Andreas Alm played for Stockholm rivals Hammarby IF before turning out for his current club as a striker from 2000-03. After hanging up his boots, Alm worked as a TV summariser and then joined the coaching staff at AIK, helping them to win a 2009 domestic double under Mikael Stahre, and assisted two further coaches before taking sole command.

• This is FARE Action Week, with UEFA giving its support to Europe's biggest anti-discrimination campaign. There are activities before each UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League game which will be witnessed by thousands of fans in the stadiums and millions on television. A 30-second RESPECT TV spot and announcements over stadium loudspeakers will encourage fans to join the UEFA family in its call to unite against racism in football. Every team will be accompanied on to the pitch by children wearing Unite Against Racism T-shirts and captains will be asked to wear a Unite Against Racism armband.
