No problem for Rapid

NK Gorica 1-3 FC Rapid Bucuresti (Agg: 1-5) Rapid sail into first round.

NK Gorica 1-3 FC Rapid Bucuresti (Rapid win 5-1 on aggregate)
FC Rapid Bucuresti sailed into the UEFA Cup proper with a solid away win over Slovenian club NK Gorica in the second leg of their qualifying round tie at Sportni Park.

Early away goal
Rapid went into the match with a comfortable 2-0 advantage from the first leg in Romania two weeks ago, and any early nerves were eased after just three minutes when Emmanuel Godfroid scored to give them a three-goal lead in the tie, and leave Gorica needing four due to the away strike.

Beyond doubt.
The tie was then put beyond doubt ten minutes later when Constantin Schumacher made it 2-0 on the night to Rapid, and indeed Gorica struggled to create much in the way of clear scoring chances in the first half as the visitors defended stoutly.

Second for Schumacher
Half-time came and went as Rapid continued to dominate and Schumacher soon scored his second goal of the game ten minutes after the restart to make it 3-0 on the night and 5-0 on aggregate, though Gorica managed a late consolation five minutes from time thanks to Danut Perja's strike.
