Mustafa double downs Sparta

Denizlispor 2-1 AC Sparta Praha(Agg: 2-1) Two goals from Mustafa Özkan seal win.

Mustafa Özkan scored twice to give Denizlispor a 2-0 victory over AC Sparta Praha and send the Turkish side through to the third round of the UEFA Cup as 2-1 winners on aggregate.

Bright start
Sparta were defending a 1-0 lead from the first leg a fortnight ago but looked in for a long night as Denizlispor attacked them right from the start. The home team began brightly and had Sparta on the defensive although the Czech side did have their moments and went close to scoring on ten minutes.

Ozkan opener
However, Denizlispor took the lead in the 23rd minute when Mustafa met Péter Kabát's cross to score past goalkeeper Jaromir Blazek from a tight angle.

Kahraman chance
Denizlispor almost built on their lead five minutes later when Kabat's 25-metre free-kick hit the post. Just before half-time Ilyas Kahraman escaped the Sparta defence but, from just inside the area, he lobbed the ball wide of the goal.

Penalty decider
Sparta were once again put on the defensive early in the second half and went further behind in the 53rd minute. Blazek brought down Denizlispor's Henrich Bencik in the area and Mustafa converted the resultant penalty.

Sparta press
Sparta pressed for the all-important away goal and went close on a number of occasions, but the home defence held firm to record a memorable victory.
