Groclin sunk by Cousin class

Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski 2-4 Lens (agg: 5-3) A Daniel Cousin double helped French side RC Lens progress impressively in Poland.

Cousin double
A first-half strike from Aruna Dindane, a goal either side of half-time from Daniel Cousin and Yoann Lachor's last-gasp free-kick helped the French club progress to the next stage of the competition after they survived a second-half fightback from their spirited hosts.

Lens take command
Cousin gave Lens the lead on 23 minutes by finishing off a neat cross from Dindane. Seven minutes later Brazilian forward Jussie played in Dindane who beat three Groclin defenders to the ball to put 'Les Sang et Or' two goals to the good on the night before Cousin added his second in the 54th minute after Groclin goalkeeper Sebastian Przyrowski failed to clear.

Lachor finale
The home side reduced the arrears on 57 minutes after Alou Diarra was adjudged to have handled in the penalty area and Lumír Sedláček stepped up to coolly convert the resulting spot-kick. Radim Sáblík then pulled another goal back for the Polish outfit with a header on 79 minutes and an intriguing finale looked to be in prospect. But Lens completed the scoring in the last minute as Lachor's curling free-kick beat Przyrowski and ended any lingering hopes of a Groclin recovery.
