Goals in the last 16 minutes from Konstantinos Mitroglou and substitute Sebastian Leto put Olympiacos CFP firmly in the box seat of their UEFA Cup first round tie against FC Nordsjælland as they took a valuable first-leg lead.
Early nerves
Time appeared to be running out for the Greek visitors when Mitroglou finally broke the deadlock on 74 minutes, ending goalkeeper Jesper Hansen's resolve with a fine left-footed effort. It was an obvious disappointment for Nordsjælland, who had recovered from some early nerves to really take the game to their more illustrious opponents. Three minutes into added time, with the hosts pressing, Leto made it 2-0 to leave Olympiacos with a healthy lead to take into the second leg on 2 October. Nordsjælland, meanwhile, will hope to rediscover the first-half spell that brought chances for Jonathan Richter and Martin Bernburg.
