Ambassador: Patrick Kluivert

The Oranje's highest all-time scorer despite winning his last cap at 27, Amsterdam-born Kluivert hit the only goal of the 1995 UEFA Champions League final.

Date of birth: 01/07/1976
Nationality: Dutch
Playing career: AFC Ajax, AC Milan, FC Barcelona, Newcastle United FC, Valencia CF, PSV Eindhoven, LOSC Lille

Nobody has scored more goals for the Netherlands, all the more impressive considering he struck his 40th and final international goal in October 2003 aged just 27.

Scoring the winning goal for Ajax in the 1995 UEFA Champions League final, aged 18, made Kluivert's name and he registered five in eight appearances the following season as the Dutch side reached the final before losing on penalties against Juventus.

Renowned for his aerial prowess, Kluivert won two championships with his hometown club before joining Milan and then Barcelona. The striker, five-goal joint-top scorer at UEFA EURO 2000 on home soil, claimed titles with Barça and PSV before knee injuries forced him to hang up his boots aged 31.

Kluivert has since had coaching positions at AZ Alkmaar and NEC Nijmegen, and now combines training the FC Twente youth team with a role as assistant to new Netherlands boss Van Gaal.
