Cana sets sights high for Lazio

"Our goal should be at least to reach the final," said midfielder Lorik Cana after SS Lazio won at Legia Warszawa, causing Tomasz Brzyski to fear "Poland is laughing at us".

SS Lazio's Lorik Cana has set his side a target of reaching the UEFA Europa League final after a 2-0 victory at Legia Warszawa secured Vladimir Petković's team a round of 32 place with a game to spare. Meanwhile, Legia defender Tomasz Brzyski fears "Poland is laughing at us" after a fifth straight Group J defeat.

Lorik Cana, Lazio midfielder
We saw a good Lazio today. We knew Legia had nothing to lose as they had no points, no goals and were bottom of the table. So we were sure they would try to change that situation but we started very well and almost completely controlled it. Legia only had two chances and we did not allow them to create any more.

This victory has given us a lot of self-confidence. We are in good position. If we win our last game, we have a chance to win the group. I am especially happy for our young strikers. They did very well today and I am pretty sure we have a great future with them in the squad.

Lazio are a big club so we must set big goals. Why not think about winning the UEFA Europa League? Last year, we reached the quarter-finals and lost to Fenerbahçe SK, although it was very close. I think this year our goal should be at least to reach the final.

Brayan Perea, Lazio striker
I am delighted as we achieved our goal, which was to take three points, and we did it in style. The goal I scored was quite unusual – I'd never scored one like that before. I got a good pass, controlled it with my head and then scored with the header. The goal helped us control the game and was beautiful at the same time.

Overall, this year has been very good for me. I won the South American youth championship with Colombia, I took part in the FIFA U-20 World Cup and now I've qualified with Lazio for the next stage of the UEFA Europa League. Everything is going in the right direction for me. I am only 20 so I am lacking experience, but it will come soon. I would like to consolidate my position in the Lazio team, win European trophies with them and do well in Serie A.

Another dream would be to play with Falcao one day. He is the key to the Colombian national team and has showed Colombian strikers how to succeed in Europe, so it would be great to follow in his footsteps.

Tomasz Brzyski, Legia defender
We tried, but maybe we don't belong in the UEFA Europa League. What we produced today was shameful – it was really poor. At times I didn't know what was going on in the game. The best thing would be to hide under the pitch after what we showed today. Before today's game we didn't have any points, but we hadn't played that badly. But [tonight] we got no points and showed no style in our play. The whole of Poland is laughing at us because we cannot score in the UEFA Europa League. It is very painful.

Tomasz Jodłowiec, Legia defender
We were given a good footballing lesson by Lazio today. When we play against Polish teams, we look good, but in the UEFA Europa League we cannot do anything. We showed nothing today.
