UEFA Europa League play-off drawThank you for joining us for our live coverage of the UEFA Europa League play-off draw. For more comment and reaction, visit UEFA.com.
14.45
Myron Markevich (FC Metalist Kharkiv)FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk coach Myron Markevych on his side's meeting with HNK Hajduk Split: "Hajduk are a good team who play attacking football. They scored five goals in two matches against Shakhter Karagandy, though they also conceded four. I saw them in action earlier but now we need to study them because every year they have lots of new players. A well-known one in Ukraine, Artem Milevskiy, has joined them recently. I think they will be interesting games for us and for our opponents."
14.42
Dmitri Osipenko (FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk)FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk coach Sergei Borovski on his side's meeting with PSV Eindhoven:"They are very good opponents - really high-profile. I like the philosophy of Dutch football. There is no doubt that PSV are favourites, but everything will be decided on the pitch. Whoever prepares best will go through. As I said after the Belarusian Cup final, we can only measure how good our teams are in Europe. And the stronger your opponent is, the better you can see both your good and weak points."
14.38
Javier Zanetti (FC Internazionale Milano)Former FC Internazionale Milano captain and current vice-president Javier Zanetti on his side's meeting with Stjarnan: “I was making my debut as Inter director in a draw, and I’m happy. We care a lot about this competition and we want to go all the way. We won't underestimate anybody because all teams are dangerous in Europe. Our opponents have already played three rounds in the competition so they are obviously in better shape than us."
14.36
Asteras Tripolis FC coach Staikos Vergetis on his side's game against Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC: "Maccabi Tel-Aviv have a fine tradition against Greek clubs, but we believe that traditions can be broken. We avoided Tottenham, which was good, and now we are up for a huge challenge. Usually, we have played the decisive legs at home, but now we have the first leg in Tripolis and we need to get a positive result."
14.35
FC Aktobe goalkeeper Almat Bekbaev on his side's game against Legia Warszawa: "Me and the rest of our guys wanted to be drawn against Internazionale Milano, but we got Legia. It's possible that they will underestimate us."
14.35
FC Rostov coach Miodrag Božović on his side's tie against Trabzonspor AŞ: "Trabzonspor are a good team with experienced players. [Florent] Malouda, [José] Bosingwa and Óscar Cardozo, who was bought from SL Benfica recently, are all very strong players. Rostov have a chance and everything depends on us. I am glad we will play away from home first. It might even be positive for our players. It will be a proper footballing atmosphere."
14.34
Klas Ingesson (IF Elfsborg)IF Elfsborg coach Klas Ingesson on his side's tie against Rio Ave FC: "It is great. This is the team that I personally would have liked to face. I feel we have it all in our own hands; if we lose we'll have no excuses. It's good that Blåvitt [IFK Göteborg] have played them already. I hope to have a good dialogue with [IFK coach Mikael] Stahre so we can get some help from them."
14.34
Roman Shishkin (FC Lokomotiv Moskva)FC Lokomotiv Moskva defender Roman Shishkin on his side's tie against Apollon Limassol FC: "I've heard of Apollon but, to tell the truth, I can't tell you much about them. I think the same goes for most of our players. I think we are the favourites and should beat them. It's good that we play the first leg away. At home, there are always more chances to change the situation for the better."
14.33
FC Astana forward Baurzhan Dzholchiyev on his side's meeting with Villarreal CF: "Villarreal are a good team, but it is all down to us. We have no fear. We can take on anyone."
14.22
RNK Split coach Ivan Matić on his side's tie against Torino FC: "I think we have opponents who we can stand up to I believe we have a chance to reach the Europa League group stage. Torino are still not match fit. I think we will be in better form when the games come around and we will try to use the advantage of playing the first match at home."
14.21
Grasshopper Club coach Michael Skibbe on his side's game against Club Brugge KV: "There were no easy draws here. From a sporting perspective, we can certainly get a result against Brugge."
14.21
Panathinaikos FC coach Giannis Anastasiou on his side's meeting with FC Midtjylland: "Midtjylland are relatively unknown to the Greek public, but I opponents from Scandinavian countries are never easy. We will watch them, as their league has already started, and study them with the aim of being as well prepared as possible for the two ties. At this level, anything can happen and we must be alert and make the most of our chances."
14.21
FC Zürich coach Urs Meier on his side's meeting with FC Spartak Trnava: "They are an unknown opponent for us and we certainly have to analyse them in more depth. We will collect as much information as we can. Spartak Trnava have already come through three qualifying rounds and we need to take them seriously."
14.20
Zoran Mamić (GNK Dinamo Zagreb)GNK Dinamo Zagreb coach Zoran Mamić on his side's meeting with FC Petrolul Ploieşti: "We are facing one of the best teams in the Romanian league; we lost against them in a friendly game in Slovenia, but that doesn't mean much. Those are warm-up games, but they obviously command respect. Their victory over Viktoria Plzeň in the last qualifying round shows they are a strong team. We will try to prepare for them as best we can."
14.07
Kardemir Karabükspor coach Tolunay Kafkas on his side's meeting with AS Saint-Étienne: "We are inexperienced and this is a disadvantage for us, but we are hungry for success. Reaching the group stage is more important than the domestic league for us because we prepared ourselves for this competition. It is not a chance that you get every day."
13.51
FC Zimbru Chisinau celebrateFC Zimbru Chisinau midfielder Anatoli Cheptine on his side's game against PAOK FC: "I had a feeling we would play against PAOK. It's a pity that the first game will be in Chisinau. In the previous rounds, we started away from home and made it through. We play better away because counterattacking football is natural for us. It will be hard, but anything can happen in football."
13.49
13.48
FK Sarajevo coach Dženan Uščuplić on his side's encounter with VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach: "We got an extremely difficult opponent, but we won't give up. Borussia are definitely favourites, but we will play the best we can and try to surprise them. It is important also that the football fans in Sarajevo will have a chance to see a quality team from the home country of the world champions."
13.46
FC Midtjylland coach Glen Riddersholm on his side's meeting with Panathinaikos FC: "We would have prefered to meet Sheriff, while we wanted to avoid Inter and Real Sociedad, so I would say that Panathinaikos is a somewhere in the middle. There is no doubt that they will be a bit of a handful, and right now they are building up after having been in the shadow of Olimpiacos for a while. No doubt they have a better team than we do right now, but we may gain something by being better prepared. This is an interesting draw, and the task is not impossible."
13.44
FC Zorya Luhansk players celebrateFC Zorya Luhansk coach Yuriy Vernydub on his side's tie against Feyenoord: "We didn't expect easy opponents at this stage of the tournament. Feyenoord are one of the strongest teams in the play-off round. We will do our best to give a respectable account of ourselves. They have some Dutch international players who played in Brazil, but there is nothing to be scared of... Chornomorets Odesa beat PSV last season and we will have our chance as well."
13.35
Hubert Fournier (Stade de Reims)Hubert Fournier, Olympique Lyonnais coach, said of his side's tie against Romania's FC Astra Giurgiu: "I wanted a return leg at home, in the Gerland, but it will be at thir place. I think we can expect a lively game in Romania." Fournier also said that full-bacl Henri Bedimo, a key players, will be out of action for three weeks with an injury sustained last night.

Gianni Infantino, UEFA General Secretary: "Along with some big footballing names present in the draw, there are new names from less well-known places that are dreaming to qualify for the group stage. The UEFA Europa League indeed provides a real diversity of teams and offers a true international experience, while offering a perfect stage for players to showcase their skills to the wider football fans audience worldwide. More importantly, it provides ample proof that there is a chance of football glory for everyone."
12.55
Final reminder: Legia Warszawa have replaced Celtic FC in today's UEFA Europa League play-off draw. Legia have been sanctioned for fielding a suspended player in their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round decider against Celtic; the match has been declared as forfeit with a 3-0 defeat meaning Celtic have qualified for the UEFA Champions League play-offs on away goals (agg: 4-4).
12.53
Hakan Özmert (Kardemir Karabükspor)Tolunay Kafkas, Kardemir Karabükspor coach: "Our team is really inexperienced and we have players who are playing at this level for the first time in their careers. Our four new signings were not eligible to play, but although we had a limited squad, our players put in a brave battle [to defeat Rosenborg BK]. They represented both Turkey and the people of Karabuk with honour. Knocking out a team who were stronger than us has boosted our confidence. We hope to be paired with a beatable opponent and reach the group stage. We will do our utmost."
12.49
FC Zimbru Chisinau celebrateAnother side who have made it all the way through from the first qualifying round, FC Zimbru Chisinau have the group stage in their sights according to defender Ion Jardan, who said: "We have already made history by qualifying for the play-offs, but the show must go on, as they say. We are confident in our strengths and want to get into the group stage. Nothing is impossible."
12.48
Portuguese debutants Rio Ave FC dislodged IFK Göteborg to make it to the play-offs, with coach Pedro Martins giving his thanks to defender Tiago Pinto, who played on Thursday despite being in mourning for his grandmother, who died on Wednesday. After the final whistle, the coach gave his player a warm hug, adding in his post-match press conference: "I would like to give my support to Tiago who is facing a difficult period in his life right now." Of the draw, the coach added: "I would like to get a good opponent and for us to qualify for the group stage. That's our goal and it won't be easy, but we'll see what happens."
12.46
Midfielder Hakan Özmert scored Kardemir Karabükspor's first European goal to help his side reach the UEFA Europa League play-off draw, and dedicated his strike to his wife: “Friday is my wife's birthday. I want to dedicate this goal to her and the whole Karabükspor community. When I found the ball in front of me, I hit it with all my power and went into the net. We aim for the group stage now."
12.37
UEFA Europa League play-off drawNot long to go. Lest we forget: this is what the seedings look like. The draw ceremony itself starts at 1300CET and is refreshingly quick once it gets going. This piece explains how it all works.
12.35
RNK Split coach Ivan Matić: "I must congratulate all my players [after a 0-0 draw completed a 2-0 aggregate win against FC Chornomorets Odesa]. We respond very well to the home team's efforts and managed to preserve our lead in Ukraine. After all that, we deserve to be in the play-off round and we are looking forward to our next challenge in the Europa League."
12.34
Vanishing spray paint will be used in the UEFA Europa League from the start of the group stage after a successful trial "As we all saw at the World Cup, this spray was very useful in helping the referee in free-kick situations, and I am sure we will see similar results in our matches this season," said UEFA President Michel Platini.
12.28
Tomás Pina, Villarreal CF midfielder: "Hopefully we will get a beatable side so we can achieve our objective of getting into the group stage, because that will give us a lift for when the league season begins."
12.26
Phillip Cocu (PSV Eindhoven)Phillip Cocu, PSV Eindhoven coach: "The match went to plan. A lucky, long-range shot restored some enthusiasm and courage [for SKN St Pölten]. After that, we set things straight very well. We came here to qualify and that is what we did."
12.23
Gordon Schildenfeld, Panathinaikos FC defender: “We conceded two soft goals and that got us eliminated by Standard de Liège [in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round]. Hopefully we will improve on that front, as we have two very important matches ahead. We need to qualify to the UEFA Europa League group stage and we will only get one chance."
12.21
Torino FC playersCristian Molinaro, Torino FC defender: "We are all aware of how important it is for our brilliant fans that we are playing in Europe. This victory against Brommapojkarna must be the start of a great European adventure. We want to play in the group stage regardless who we get in the play-offs."
11.26
Legia Warszawa have replaced Celtic FC in today's UEFA Europa League play-off draw. In addition, Legia's Bartosz Bereszyński has been suspended for one additional UEFA competition match for which he would be otherwise eligible. This suspension shall be added to the remaining two-match suspension which the player still has to serve.
11.15
Matjaž Kek, HNK Rijeka coach: "We already achived one of our goals in this season: we are within one round of the Europa League group stage. We made a few changes for the second leg [of a 9-1 aggregate win against Faroese side Vikingur] and we played a good match. I think our great fans were happy with our performance and I think they were the best part of the match. Do I have wish for the draw? Just not to travel too far - that would be good for our fans too because they could travel with us, and I know that means a lot to them."
11.12
FC Astana celebrateOne of the lowest-ranked sides ever to reach this stage of a UEFA club competition, FC Astana have eliminated FC Pyunik, Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC and AIK Solna to reach the play-offs, and midfielder Georgy Zhukov is hungry for more: "We want to go as far we can. We are ready to play good football, and for big wins. At the same time we know it will be three times harder from the play-offs onwards. The standard of the competition is increasing, but we believe in ourselves."
11.01
Asteras Tripolis FC celebrateGreece's Asteras Tripolis FC achieved a landmark result last night as they eliminated Germany's 1. FSV Mainz 05, and coach Staikos Vergetis has been heaping praise on his side. "Whatever I say about my players wouldn’t do justice to their passion and effort on the pitch," he said. "We have had various injuries during the summer and our preparation has suffered as a result, but we tried very hard to get through and we achieved a major coup in eliminating Mainz. This is a historic win for the club and tonight we will celebrate. Come tomorrow, though, we will return to our work, because we still need to improve."
10.57
Balls and pots (UEFA Europa League play-off draw)Another reminder: this is what the seedings look like. The draw ceremony itself starts at 1300CET and is refreshingly quick once it gets going. This piece explains how it all works.
10.55
FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk produced one of the results of the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round when they eliminated SV Zulte Waregem, notably winning 5-2 in the first leg in Belgium. Coach Sergei Borovski knows his side can get FC Metalist Kharkiv. FK Partizan, AS Saint-Étienne, Rio Ave FC or PSV Eindhoven in the play-offs, and said. "Do I want to bring a big team to Belarus? We are not a travel agency. We want to play and to win."
10.46
Of the four Russian contenders in the draw, FC Lokomotiv Moskva and FC Dinamo Moskva are both seeded – which has somewhat ramped up the pressure on them in the eyes of local paper Sport-Express, which writes: "Regardless of who they will be drawn against, FC Lokomotiv and FC Dinamo should play from a position of strength. If they lose, it will be a stinking shame." FC Rostov and FC Krasnodar, meanwhile, can expect tough opponents: Krasnodar defender Aleksandr Martynovich said: "Of course, we hope to be lucky in the draw. But we will play to win no matter what happens."
10.40
Jagoba Arrasate, Real Sociedad de Fútbol coach: "The important thing was to be in the draw in Nyon. Half of the job is done. We knew that we were going to be under pressure [in the third qualifying round decider against Aberdeen FC], and at 2-1 down we were in trouble. It was important to go through. The win was deserved. I'm grateful to the fans who came.I don't mind which side we get. I know it is the final qualifier, and whoever we get will be a more difficult opponent [than Aberdeen]."
10.37
Kardemir Karabükspor line upMustafa Yolbulan, Kardemir Karabükspor president: "I feel proud because a small-city club are making their name in Europe. We are very excited about our success and this is a deserved achievement for our city. Whoever we face after this level, will not matter; we will fight for a place in the group stage regardless."
10.33
HNK Hajduk Split coach Igor Tudor: "We were better team [as we concluded a 5-4 aggregate win against FC Shakhter Karagandy] and it was only right that we went through. It was difficult at times, but we did a good job at the Stadion Poljud and we deserve to be in the Europa League draw."
10.29
Bojan Gjorgievski (FK Metalurg Skopje) & Mickaël Poté (AC Omonia)AC Omonia coach, Costas Kaiafas: “We’re delighted to have reached the next round with another win [at FK Metalurg Skopje] – a win that we need desperately for our [UEFA coefficient] points. We may not have played great football but we got what we needed and we’re happy. We now await the draw."
10.28
Goal (Cypriot newspaper)UEFA.com's man in Nicosia, John Leonidou, has sent us this front page from national sports paper Goal, which is very excited about the presence of four Cypriot sides in today's draw. Translated headline: 'We need a bit of luck…'
10.16
We are looking a long way ahead, but the ultimate destination for the two UEFA Europa League finalists is Warsaw, which stages this season's final on 27 May 2015. The full calendar for the season is on UEFA.com. There are 15 matchdays from the start of the group stage to the decider; should one of the sides who entered in the first qualifying round make it to the final, it would be their 23rd UEFA Europa League game of the season.
10.07
Stjarnan celebrateSome big names enter the tournament at this stage - not least Tottenham Hotspur FC and FC Internazionale Milano - but massive kudos to Stjarnan (pictured) and FC Astana, who have made it all the way through from the first qualifying round despite relatively measly UEFA coefficient rankings. The Icelandic side's is just 1.350, while the Kazakh team's is 1.900: put that in context - the top ranked side in this draw, Olympique Lyonnais, have a coefficent of 97.300.
