Ondrej Duda's 84th-minute goal gave Legia Warszawa a fourth straight victory in UEFA Europa League Group L and secured qualification for the Polish team, after FC Metalist Kharkiv took the lead through an amazing bicycle kick from Vasyl Kobin.

Legia started the game in determined fashion, pushing hard from the first whistle and crafted the first attempt of the game on seven minutes with a superb solo effort from Tomasz Jodłowiec, who ran for more than 40 metres with the ball before sending his shot just wide. Four minutes later Metalist responded with an individual effort, but Brazilian forward Jaja could not finish his own good work.

Then, on 22 minutes, Kobin scored one of the most amazing goals the Stadion Wojska Polskiego has ever seen. After Legia defenders were unable to clear the ball from a corner, Marco Torsiglieri accidentally flicked it into Kobin's path who scored from around 11 metres with a wonderful bicycle kick, leaving goalkeeper Dušan Kuciak with no chance as Legia conceded the first goal of their UEFA Europa League campaign.

Seven minutes later the home team responded as Marek Saganowski headed in Michał Kucharczyk's cross from close range, and Legia could have had another shortly after but Metalist goalkeeper Vladimir Disljenković denied Kucharczyk when one-on-one.

The home side started the second half impressively and had two excellent opportunities with Saganowski and Ivica Vrdoljak both failing to beat Disljenković with headers. Metalist then had some good chances themselves, but the home team killed the game with a quick counterattack on 84 minutes; Orlando Sa provided 19-year-old Duda with the pass for the Slovakia international to net the winner.
