Sporting to meet Kairat in Futsal Cup semis

UEFA Futsal Cup hosts Kairat Almaty will play Sporting Clube de Portugal while holders SL Benfica will take on ASD Città di Montesilvano C/5 after the semi-final draw was made today in Kazakhstan by Akhmetzhan Yesimov, mayor of Almaty, and the 2004 FIFA World Futsal Player of the Year, Falcão.

Almaty's Baluan Sholak Sport Palace will stage the final tournament and was the venue for the draw too. Home team Kairat have lost all three previous semi-finals while their opponents at 14.30CET (18.30 local time) on Friday 29 April, Sporting, also fell at that stage when hosting the inaugural competition in 2001/02. At 17.00CET (21.00 local time) on the Friday, Benfica, competition winners on home territory last year, will face Italy's Montesilvano who are in their debut European campaign.

The winners of those ties will meet in the final at 13.30CET (17.30 local time) on Sunday 1 May, after the third-place match has taken place at 11.00CET (15.00 local time). Eurosport will broadcast live all of the first UEFA final tournament to be held in Kazakhstan.
