La Real posted their third straight win to strengthen their place at the top of Group A as the English visitors slipped to a second defeat.

Álvaro Odriozola's fourth-minute strike settled this contest as Real Sociedad de Fútbol continued their impressive start in the UEFA Youth League against Manchester United FC.

The goal came Jon Bautista did well to get behind the United defence, shrug off his marker and draw goalkeeper Joel Castro before sliding the ball across for Odriozola to score. The Basque club should have added to their advantage in the first half, with Odriozola and Bautista spurning inviting one-on-one opportunities, but despite United going close after the interval through Joshua Harrop and Joe Rothwell, La Real played the more cohesive, eye-catching football throughout. United had Ben Pearson sent off in the dying seconds.
