A spectacular effort from just inside his team's half cemented Munir El Haddadi's status as the outstanding player of the 2013/14 UEFA Youth League.

The audacious attempt, a contender in UEFA's best goal poll, rubber-stamped FC Barcelona's 3-0 victory against SL Benfica and left those inside Nyon's Colovray Stadium for the inaugural final open-mouthed in awe.

The 18-year-old was averaging a goal a game from ten appearances in the competition when he spotted Thierry Graça off his line, let the ball run across his body and unleashed a left-footed shot that gently flicked the base of the upright before nestling in the back of the net.

"Well, I wanted to pass to my team-mate, but then I saw the goalkeeper was too far out of his goal, so I tried and it went in," he told UEFA.com. "We all gave a great performance, we played together really well. We wanted to achieve this success, and it pays back the hard work we put in."
