Leverkusen have taken few positives from their first three Group C encounters – they are bottom of the section with zero points − but in Marc Brasnic they have reason for cheer. His four goals in the 2014/15 competition – seven in eight outings, including last season – have come in addition to eight strikes in the youth Bundesliga. Brasnic, who turned 19 last week, started out at TSV Alemannia Aachen, and has been part of Leverkusen's youth setup since 2007. Twice capped at Under-15 level by Germany, Brasnic made his debut for Croatia's U19s last month.

Having made three appearances in this tournament last term as a 16-year-old, Crowley has excelled in an Arsenal side that is joint top of Group D going into matchday four. The Coventry-born central midfielder, who joined the Gunners in summer 2013 from Aston Villa FC, signed his first professional contract in August, a day after turning 17. The England Under-17 international scored a hat-trick in Arsenal's 4-3 loss to RSC Anderlecht a week ago, prompting team-mate Alex Iwobi to describe his performance as "unreal".

The younger brother of Olympique de Marseille front man Michy Batshuayi, Leya Iseka is the latest talent off the Anderlecht production line. The skilful, speedy striker has trained with Besnik Hasi's first-team squad this season, although the 16-year-old has yet make his debut for the seniors. His goals, including two against Crowley's Arsenal, have given the Brussels team a three-way share of the lead in Group D. Mohamed Ouahbi, his coach from U10 to U17 level, said: "At the age of ten he had already outclassed all of the others. Aaron also has a strong character and makes himself heard in the squad."

Sinclair was 16 years and six days old when he became the youngest player to represent Liverpool, coming off the bench in an English League Cup tie against his former club, West Bromwich Albion FC, in September 2012. Birmingham-born Sinclair was on target twice in each of the Reds' opening two Group B assignments – versus PFC Ludogorets Razgrad (4-0) and FC Basel 1893 (2-3) – while last time out he set up a goal in Liverpool's memorable 3-2 triumph over Real Madrid CF.
