Goals galore in Youth League as Benfica score 11

Group A
Malmö 5-5 Shakhtar Donetsk
Behind after 13 minutes, Malmö led 3-1, 4-2 and 5-4 in an absorbing contest that featured ten different scorers – including Andriy Boryachuk, whose 80th-minute own goal put the Swedish side 5-4 up. Oleksandr Pikhalonok's leveller, however, not only stopped Malmö establishing a four-point lead over third-placed Real Madrid but also, more importantly, got the Pitmen off the mark in Group A.

Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 Real Madrid
In the first of two games streamed on UEFA.com, Paris made light of the absence of five players at the FIFA U-17 World Cup to move onto seven points against a side missing the similarly-engaged Luca Zidane in goal. Felix Eboa Eboa headed in a Christopher Nkunku corner to give Paris a half-time advantage and creator turned scorer in the second half with two magnificent curling efforts into the top scorer. Madrid had reduced the arrears through Aleix Febas but Roli Pereira De Sa had the last word in added time.

Group B
CSKA Moskva 4-0 Manchester United
CSKA opened up a three-point cushion over United with two penalties from Timur Zhamaletdinov, both for handballs. Zhamaletdinov also set up Astemir Gordyushenko for an impressively taken fourth, with Gordyushenko having earlier laid on Aleksandr Makarov's goal just before half-time.

Wolfsburg 4-1 PSV Eindhoven
Wolfsburg registered their first Group B win as their greater efficiency in front of goal proved the difference. Robin Ziegele and Ramon-Pascal Lundqvist exchanged early goals, and as the chances kept coming the home side were the more clinical. Leandro Putaro converted a late first-half penalty, Orhan Vojic made it 3-1 in a one-on-one before Amara Conde sealed it at the death.

Group C
Atlético Madrid 7-1 Astana
Roberto Núñez and Juan Moreno inspired a comfortable victory that lifted Atleti onto six points as both scored twice before the break. Iliyas Kuanyshbay had pounced on a defensive error to equalise on 22 minutes but it was 5-1 by the interval. Keinti Bare and substitute Salomón then ensured Astana would remain point-less as Atlético strode three clear of Galatasaray in third.

Galatasaray 1-11 Benfica
Benfica broke their own competition-record winning margin, set in the 8-0 matchday one thrashing of Astana, as they reached double figures in Istanbul to extend their 100% start and stay three points above Atlético. Volkan İşsever actually fired Galatasaray in front from the spot but as against Astana, Diogo Gonçalves plundered a hat-trick, taking his competition-leading tally to seven. José Gomes also notched a treble yet even after both he and Gonçalves were withdrawn, Benfica kept scoring.

Group D
Juventus 2-1 Borussia Mönchengladbach
Luca Clemenza's 90th-minute strike, his second of the match, earned Juventus their first victory and condemned the point-less visitors to another defeat. Clemenza had made it 1-0 from Francesco Cassata's delivery and though Denis Eckert equalised early in the second half, his goal was not enough to get the German side off the mark. Clemenza had the final say, curling a left-footed effort past Nicolas Moritz.

Manchester City 1-1 Sevilla
In the second of today's games streamed on UEFA.com, substitute Miguel Martín's 80th-minute equaliser rescued a draw for Sevilla, a result that leaves them level on seven points with their opponents at the top of the section. Thierry Ambrose met Patrick Roberts's free-kick with his torso, giving City the lead in somewhat unorthodox fashion. Martín, though, restored parity, running onto Francisco Sánchez's pass and sliding a shot under Daniel Grimshaw.
