State of play
Through to round of 16 as group winners: Barcelona, CSKA Moskva, Dynamo Kyiv, Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven, Porto, Real Madrid, Sevilla
Through to play-offs as runners-up: Atlético Madrid, Basel, Benfica, Juventus, København, Manchester City, Monaco, Dortmund

Watch Monaco make the play-offs

Group E
Bayern Leverkusen 1-2 Monaco (Handwerker 9; Appin 36, Cardona 58)
Things were looking up for play-off-chasing Leverkusen when Tim Handwerker fired past Monaco's Emmanuel Mifsud early on. However, Kévin Appin equalised and, with the German side needing to score again to overhaul ASM in second, Irvin Cardona extinguished home hopes by driving in off Bayer keeper Tomasz Kucz.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-0 CSKA Moskva
Jonathan De Bie helped earn Tottenham – already out of qualification contention – a point against table-topping CSKA by saving Timur Pukhov's sixth-minute penalty.

Group F
Legia Warszawa 2-0 Sporting CP (Praszelik 3, Michalak 55)
Hitherto winless Legia saved their best until last, signing off from the 2016/17 competition with a victory that ultimately torpedoed Sporting's chances of a second-place finish. Quick goals in each half, from Mateusz Praszelik and then Konrad Michalak, did the damage.

Watch Dortmund's comeback win

Real Madrid 1-3 Borussia Dortmund
Dortmund's mission of claiming three points from the group winners to pip Sporting to the play-offs appeared impossible when the first-half sending-off of Orel Mangala was followed by Francisco Llario's opener for Madrid. However, Jano Baxmann levelled for the ten men before Etienne Amenyido converted after Dzenis Burnic's penalty was saved. David Kopacz confirmed the visitors' second placing late on.

Group G
Club Brugge 0-3 København (Vesterlund 13, Kristoffersen 56, Wind 77pen)
Brugge dropped from first to third as a result of this defeat, which seemed likely once Niklas Vesterlund headed in at the near post. The Belgians thus missed out on a play-off berth by virtue of their inferior head-to-head record against København.

Porto 2-1 Leicester (João Cardoso 21 56; Moore 55)
João Cardoso doubled his group-stage goal tally as Porto consigned Leicester to their fifth defeat of the campaign. His second, after visiting custodian Max Bramley inadvertently passed the ball to him, came a minute after Elliott Moore had nodded the Foxes level.

Group H
Juventus 0-1 Dinamo Zagreb (Djurić 78)
Fabio Grosso's Juventus were heading directly to the round of 16 until Antonio Djurić dealt them a blow 12 minutes from time, scoring with a low shot via the base of the upright. The Bianconeri's focus now turns to Monday's play-off draw.

Lyon 0-1 Sevilla (Colmenero 19)
Third at kick-off, Sevilla ended up topping the section after this victory at a foggy Groupama Academy Stadium combined with Dinamo's triumph in Turin. Lyon are out.
