Four-goal Barcelona eliminate København

FC Barcelona 4-1 FC København
Two goals from competition top scorer Munir El Haddadi helped Barcelona become the first side through to the quarter-finals.

Munir El Haddadi scored twice as FC Barcelona recovered from a goal down against FC København to reach the UEFA Youth League quarter-finals.

An away win was on the cards when Andreas Nielsen put the visitors ahead just after the quarter-hour mark. Strikes before half-time from El Haddadi and Maxi Rolón turned the round of 16 tie in the Blaugrana's favour, however, and Elohor Godswill's 77th-minute penalty gave them breathing space. El Haddadi sealed victory with his competition-leading seventh of the campaign.

Nielsen gave FCK the lead when he followed up to score after Barcelona goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa had blocked Daniel Chukwumah's initial effort. Their advantage lasted all of ten minutes, though, as El Haddadi, taking receipt of Ebwelle's pass, beat Aris Vaporakis.

El Haddadi helped create the second, his corner reaching Xavi Quintillà who teed up Rolón. With little under a quarter of an hour left, Quintillà was fouled by Nielsen and Godswill stepped up to register his fourth European goal of the season. Finally, with FCK pushing forward in the closing stages, El Haddadi rounded off a swift counterattack.

Coach Jordi Vinyals, whose team will play Arsenal FC or FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the last eight, said: "We have been excited about this competition from the start and we want to win it. We know it's going to be difficult, but we have now qualified for the next round, which is what we set out to achieve."
