The Netherlands have their first UEFA European Under-17 Championship title after a 5-2 defeat of Germany in Novi Sad – though Albert Stuivenberg's side needed two Tonny Trindade de Vilhena equalisers to be level at the break. UEFA.com spoke to some of the key men in the victory.

Daan Disveld, captain
It was an incredible feeling and I think I will only realise what we achieved when I get home. During the game I got sunburn, but by the end when I held the trophy I had tears in my eyes. We had some disappointments, 1-0 down and 2-1 down, but as a team we had belief we could put it right, and we did. I am incredibly proud of the players, I can't find words to describe how it feels.

I am also very proud of the staff members, we are one big group, everybody helped to achieve this fantastic result. Of course I am looking forward to [next month's FIFA U-17] World Cup but first we're going to celebrate this achievement. And I have exams at school before the World Cup...

Tonny Trindade de Vilhena, playmaker
It is a fantastic result, I can't find words to describe it. We did it as a team, a team performance, a wonderful job. It is a dream come true [to score twice]. The team is the most important, but I am a year younger than the rest of the team and to score twice in a European Championship final, it's everything I ever dreamed of. It was a wonderful experience, once in a lifetime.

The last two weeks have been fantastic for me, together with the boys, we had fun, we played as a team. [Jordi Bitter and Jean-Paul Boëtius, injured before the tournament] are an important part of the team, they played an important part in the elite round, so this victory is also for them.

Kyle Ebecilio, midfielder
It feels very good, a great feeling. The team spirit made this happen. I've played with Anass [Achahbar, who again set up his goal] since I was eight, he is a very good player. This is a dream come true – when we were little boys we dreamed of becoming European champions in the national team, so this is a wonderful achievement and I hope in the future we can do it again with the A team. I grew during the tournament. I worked hard in every match and I am very happy with my three goals and very happy I was important for the team.

Yassine Ayoub, midfielder
I can't think of anything more special than this. We were down twice in the game, we came back, we fought together, it is a dream come true. We came to Serbia with one goal – to become European champions. We had to focus game to game, with the happiness left to one side, but now everyone can come out and celebrate all night long.

It was wonderful to see the support, people came down to Serbia to support us, they really helped us during the game and we are happy to give them the victory; the fans deserved it. I know Albert was in the final two years ago and lost, but we did it here together and we did it as a team, for the team, for the fans and also for the coach; he deserves it, he did a great job during the two weeks.
