Hermann Stadler told UEFA.com he regretted that his Austria team could not find a second goal to see off Sweden, whose coach, Roland Larsson, acknowledged his sides' display in their 1-1 draw "was one of the worst games we've played". His team's spirit left Slovakia coach Ladislav Pecko with a smile on his face, though Heinz Moser wore a frown after Switzerland let slip a two-goal lead to draw with the host nation.

AUSTRIA 1-1 SWEDEN
Hermann Stadler, Austria coach
I think that 1-1 is more than fair. I think my team today improved a lot compared to the first game. They were very aggressive and ran a lot. Aside from the first ten minutes in which we were very nervous, we dictated the game. In the last 20 minutes, we were clearly dominating physically, and could have won the match with the chances we created. It was important [to get back to 1-1 quickly] because we gave Sweden a sloppy goal, but my team answered in the right way as quickly as possible. After getting back to 1-1, we were driven to win in the last 20 minutes. Unfortunately, we didn't make the big breakthrough, nevertheless, congratulations to my team.

Roland Larsson, Sweden coach
I am disappointed about our play, we didn't play well today. It wasn't a good game for us. This game was one of the worst games we've played probably, because there were a lot of things that didn't work on the pitch. We were disappointed with the play, but very happy with the point, of course. When you play like that and get a point, you have to be satisfied, but immediately after the final whistle we were very disappointed about the way we played because it wasn't good. Maybe the boys, after five minutes, thought that this was going to be an easy one, because we were good then and had a lot of pressure. But then we stopped running, and then we had problems.

SLOVAKIA 2-2 SWITZERLAND
Ladislav Pecko, Slovakia coach
The thing that decided it was that we didn't give up, we believed in ourselves. That's football. Even after going 2-0 down, we did not panic. We played in the way we know how, to the maximum of our capabilities. We got back into the game with a set-piece. At half-time, we said that it was all or nothing. I am pleased we made it at least a draw. The Slovak team spirit was decisive. It's something I've been dreaming about for two years, and it came just at the right time. I just hope the guys can grab a medal if possible, but we have to fight for it on the pitch.

Heinz Moser, Switzerland coach
That's true [that I'm disappointed]. Not only me, but the players, the whole team. Today was a game that we should have won. We were very clinical in the first half, we controlled the best part of game. We were 2-0 ahead until this very unfortunate last minute before half-time. That can always happen. I think my team reacted well at the start of the second half. We continued going forward, we wanted the third goal. We had chances to score a third goal. I think we had some golden opportunities from which we should have scored a third. And then from one of the few Slovakian attacks, it is 2-2.
