Tomáš Necid took a significant step towards finishing as top scorer at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship with his fourth goal of the final tournament – although it would have come as little consolation to the Czech Republic forward as his side went down 2-1 against Germany in their semi-final.
Two goals each
Necid struck seven minutes after Marcel Risse had put Germany in front in Mlada Boleslav, cancelling out Risse's second goal of the finals to send the tie into extra time and, seemingly, a penalty shoot-out. Richard Sukuta-Pasu had other ideas, however, scoring with a thumping shot in the 119th minute – taking his side into Saturday's final and his own tally to two goals. Germany's opponents will be Italy after Fernando Forestieri registered in the 65th minute to earn a 1-0 victory over Hungary in Plzen, his first goal of the tournament. A total of six players are on two goals although only Risse, Sukuta-Pasu and Italy pair Alberto Paloschi and Andrea Poli can hope to equal or better Necid's haul.
