Smooth progress for Denmark and Austria

Neither Denmark nor Austria conceded a goal in claiming the top two places in qualifying Group 12, although it was the Scandinavian side who won the section by two points.

Denmark and Austria sailed through UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying round Group 12 without conceding a goal to hold off the challenge of Albania and Malta.

Although the Danes ultimately came out on top it was mini-tournament hosts Austria who made the more eye-catching start, defeating Malta 3-0 in their opening fixture. Denmark began with a 1-0 victory against Albania thanks to Nicolaj Beier Kohlert's effort deep into added time.

Denmark seized the initiative in the section with a 4-0 defeat of Malta in their second fixture, when Austria could only draw 0-0 against Albania, meaning the goalless draw between the top two on matchday three was enough for the Scandinavian side to claim first place. Albania finished third thanks to a 4-0 win against Malta.
