Sno keeps Dutch on course

Netherlands 1-0 F.Y.R. Macedonia Evander Sno's first-half strike was enough for the holders to maintain their 100 per cent record in Group 5.

Evander Sno took his UEFA European Under-21 Championship scoring tally to three in two games as his first-half goal was enough for the Netherlands to see off F.Y.R. Macedonia and maintain their 100 per cent record in Group 5.

Goalscoring touch
Sno has scored just once in 22 league appearances for club side Celtic FC but seems to save his goalscoring best for international duty. Having struck two in last month's 3-0 victory against Estonia he added another just before the half-hour mark in Nijmegen after being teed up by Gianni Zuiverloon. The goal had been coming as Roy Beerens and Royston Drenthe terrorised the flanks, but a second proved elusive as Siem de Jong was denied by the crossbar and Ryan Donk saw a header cleared off the goalline, though it mattered not. The holders made it four wins in four to move five points clear at the Group 5 summit, with F.Y.R. Macedonia third, seven points adrift.
