Ignazio Abate will return from the UEFA European Under-21 Championship to a new club after relegated Torino FC allowed the winger to rejoin AC Milan on a permanent basis, ending a previous co-ownership deal, for €2.2m.

Joint-ownership deal
The 22-year-old son of former FC Internazionale Milano goalkeeper Beniamino Abate represented SSC Napoli, UC Sampdoria, Piacenza FC, Modena Calcio and Empoli FC before Milan and Torino concluded a joint-ownership deal last summer, which saw him loaned out to the Turin side for the season, scoring twice in 27 Serie A appearances. He has now officially become a Milan player again, his club starting their UEFA Champions League campaign in the group stage. Abate's focus is currently on the U21 finals in Sweden, however, with Pierluigi Casiraghi's side set to meet Germany in the semi-finals on Friday.
