Italy midfielder Stefano Sturaro has been suspended for three games following his dismissal in the Azzurrini's opening defeat by Sweden.
Sturaro was shown a straight red ten minutes from the end of his team's 2-1 loss in Olomouc on Thursday after raising his hands to Sweden substitute Mikael Ishak.
Sturaro, who issued a public apology to his team-mates in a press conference on Friday, will miss his nation's remaining Group B games against Portugal and England. He would also have to sit out a semi-final tie or the Olympic play-off should Italy get that far.
The 22-year-old would, however, be available to coach Luigi Di Biagio if Italy reach the U21 EURO final on 30 June. The decision, made by UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body, is subject to appeal.
