Portugal maintain progress

Portugal 2-0 Russia Ricardo Quaresma and Hugo Almeida scored as Portugal secured a third Group 3 win.

Portugal moved clear at the top of UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 3 with a 2-0 win over second-placed Russia in Setubal.

Quaresma opens scoring
FC Porto winger Ricardo Quaresma opened the scoring with a spectacular lob over Russian goalkeeper Vladimir Gaboulov from outside the penalty area in the 61st minute. His club colleague Hugo Almeida sealed the victory with the second goal two minutes from time after impressive play from substitute Varela.

Nine points claimed
The only negative for Portugal, who have taken maximum points from their three matches played, came six minutes from time with an injury to striker Danny. Russia lie second in the group alongside Slovakia, three points behind Portugal.
