England brush aside Austria

Austria 0-2 England Carlton Cole and Darren Bent ensure Peter Taylor a winning return as coach.

Carlton Cole and Darren Bent ensured Peter Taylor made a winning return to competitive action as England Under-21 coach with a goal each against Austria in their opening Group 6 qualifier in Krems.

Cole opens scoring
It was Taylor's first competitive match in charge of the U21s since his first spell in the post ended four years ago. Cole opened the scoring with a low shot into the corner after 32 minutes and England made sure of all three points in the final minute when Bent raced on to Nigel Reo-Coker's pass and finished confidently.
