First-half goals lift Lithuania

Lithuania 2-0 San Marino Strikes from Mindaugas Panka, and Darvydas Sernas earn a solid Group 7 win.

Lithuania got their qualification campaign up and running with a 2-0 victory over bottom-placed San Marino in Group 7.

Solid display
First-half strikes from Mindaugas Panka, after 23 minutes, and Darvydas Sernas 16 minutes before the break, sealed a good night's work in Vilnius for the home team who were for the most part efficient rather than dazzling.

Spanish test
Lithuania next play section leaders Spain on 12 October, while San Marino visit Serbia and Montenegro on the same day.
