Goals flow for Serbia and Montenegro

Serbia and Montenegro 5-1 Bonsia-Herzegovina A five-star performance in Novi Sad sent the 2004 runners-up through to the play-offs.

Serbia and Montenegro sealed a place in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship play-offs with a 5-1 win against Group 7 rivals Bosnia-Herzegovina in Novi Sad.

Splendid performance
The margin of victory reflected a one-sided affair, but the game did not start well for the home side as the guests opened the scoring after 14 minutes when Adil Djidjić pounced on an error from Serbo-Montenegrin defender Risto Lakić. However, that was to prove the last of Bosnia-Herzegovina as an attacking force.

Level terms
After 25 minutes, Milan Purović put the hosts back on level terms with a header from Nenad Milijas's cross, and central defender Milan Stepanov then put Serbia and Montenegro into the lead when he scored after 34 minutes following a corner kick from Aleksandar Trisović.

Tournament credentials
Boško Janković finished the scoring for Serbia and Montenegro in the 68th minute as the 2004 European Under-21 Championship runners-up showed that they may well have the skills to go one better in the 2006 edition.
