Gökhan Kaba gave Turkey the lead within seven minutes, and that advantage doubled in the 73rd minute courtesy of Mehmet Topuz. To complete a miserable day for Georgia, Otar Martsvaladze was sent off 14 minutes from time.
Second place consolidated
With leaders Denmark defeating Ukraine today, Turkey remain five points off the top but have increased the gap to third place, now the property of Greece, to three points. Turkey welcome Greece on 3 June, when Georgia hope to keep their slim qualification hopes alive in Albania.
