France warmed up for their crucial game in Romania on Wednesday with a comfortable 4-0 victory against ten-man Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Skipper absent
Although captain Younes Kaboul and regular goalkeeper Hugo Lloris were missing, René Girard’s side still played with panache in Albi. SM Caen's Yohan Gouffran broke the deadlock after 29 minutes with a header, although the game only truly swung in France’s favour ten minutes into the second half when Mustafa Sejmenović saw red for an apparent elbow on Dimitri Payet.
Two for Marveaux
The AS Saint-Etienne player responded in style, dashing forward before sending a pin-point cross to substitute Serge Gakpé to score his first goal for Les Bleuets after 63 minutes. Sylvain Marveaux of Stade Rennais FC also struck his first goal at this level six minutes later, and followed it up with another (80) to cap a slick team display. France are three points clear of Romania, having played a game more, before their midweek assignment in Iasi.
