Komarovski leads Belarus charge

Belarus 6-0 San Marino The hosts moved five points clear of Serbia at the top of Group 8 as two goals from Dmitri Komarovski helped them to a huge triumph.

Belarus moved five points clear of Serbia at the top of UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 8 as Dmitri Komarovski scored twice in a 6-0 win against San Marino.

Komarovski double
The home side were quickly into their stride, taking a two-goal lead inside the first 20 minutes to deflate their opponents. Komarovski opened the scoring, Mikhail Afanasiev quickly added the second, and victory was assured before the interval by another two-goal burst from Leonid Kovel and Komarovski on the cusp of half-time.

Crunch meeting
Two goals in as many minutes from Aleksei Kuchuk and Degtiarev completed the scoring and gave Belarus a five-point cushion over this summer's finalists, although Serbia still have one game in hand, ahead of their meeting on Tuesday that could decide which side will win the group. San Marino remain bottom and are yet to register a point.
