Austria's ten men deny Iceland

Iceland 1-1 Austria
Iceland continue their searching for a first win despite playing against ten men for 49 minutes.

Iceland had to make do with a point and a continuing search for a first win in Group 7 after being held to a draw against Austria in Grindavíkurvöllur, despite playing against ten men for 49 minutes.

Dober opener
Rúrik Gíslason had the first chance when he surged past the visiting goalkeeper on 13 minutes only for two Austrian defenders to provide the necessary cover on the goalline. Niklas Honeneder was given a red card towards the end of the first half but that did not stop Austria from attacking and they were rewarded when Andreas Dober scored on 49 minutes.

Iceland respond
Gíslason equalised 15 minutes later however to earn Iceland a third draw in their four group games. Austria remain top, and unbeaten, with eight points from their four encounters but face a tough challenge from this summer's UEFA European Under-21 championship semi-finalists Belgium next on 16 November.
