Article body
The Czech Republic picked up their first victory in Group 2 in style with an emphatic 8-0 win against Liechtenstein - the biggest in qualifying for the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship so far - to ease the disappointment of Saturday's 1-1 draw in Armenia.
Pekhart continues streak
Martin Fillo, one of three survivors from the squad which played in this summer's finals, headed in the opening goal after four minutes. Tomáš Pekhart added to his goal in Yerevan by scoring early in each half, while Michal Smejkal's double just before the interval sent the hosts in four goals up. The Czech Republic continued to push forward after the break and scored four more through Pekhart, substitute Borek Dockal, who hit two, and a Liechtenstein own goal.
