Croatia's 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign got off to a miserable start with two Georgios Kolokoudias strikes silencing home fans in Koprivnica.

Loose ball
Very much the outsiders in Group 7, Cyprus proved that reputation mattered for little, opening the scoring after eleven minutes as Kolokoudias pounced on a ball which came loose after a cross from the left. Dejan Školnik should have equalised midway through the half but made the wrong decision with just the goalkeeper to beat, and it was to be 2-0 by half-time with a major blunder in the rearguard allowing Kolokoudias to poach a second. Cyprus host Norway in their next qualifier on 12 August while Croatia's play the same opponents away on 5 September.
