Julen Lopetegui, Spain coach
It was a very difficult game against a very good team, even if it did finish 3-0. We had a lot of chance to score in the first half but their keeper was very good and made several great saves, yet we managed to make it 1-0 by half-time.
The team played very well and although we played with a bit more safety after the first goal, we finished it with the second. In the final it will be very difficult – hopefully we can score earlier then. It is all about the team, not individuals. The team worked as one unit.
We feel the team plays the same way as the one that win in 2011, but only a couple of the players are the same so we are happy with the current crop. We are going to prepare, relax a bit, practise a lot and be as ready as possible for the final.
I know Norway well and they have a lot of heart, but also have quality. Physically, tactically, they are one of the strongest teams in this tournament – they had an extra day of preparation and in the second half they played well. They have good players.
Tor Ole Skullerud, Norway coach
I was a bit disappointed after the first half – we met a very good Spain side and coudn't keep up with the tempo, but I am very proud about our second half. We came out a new team and for 30 minutes we were very good. Football is a game of small margins and we had two or three big chances, with the biggest one just before their second goal. It could have been 1-1 just there. The loss was not undeserved, but we had our chances.
When I look back at this in a day or two, I will be very proud of coming third in this competition. It has been an adventure for us. The team has done a fantastic job, but going into a semi and playing perhaps the best side in Europe, we only turned up in the second half … but it has been fantastic and we will look back on it very fondly.
We can be proud of what we achieved. [Lopetegui] is a gentleman and they are a fantastic team – when he praises us, it's an honour for Norwegian football that we can produce these talented players and do what we did here for these two weeks. We have tried to be brave, go out, take the opportunity to show our skills. The skills are very good in this team. We have showed what we can do and showed our identity – I am very proud of how we have played.
I will remember the win against England, I will remember the team spirit. I am mostly proud of my team and the people around me. Everyone has given it their all in these weeks, the companionship and spirit in the squad – that is the strongest feeling right now.
