Switzerland triumph over Estonia

Switzerland 3-0 Estonia
Already guaranteed to finish second in Group 5, Switzerland ended on a high thanks to goals from Fabian Schär, Steven Zuber and Haris Seferovic

Switzerland reinforced second position in Group 5 of UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying courtesy of a 3-0 win against Estonia.

Already assured of finishing runners-up to Spain, Switzerland boosted their tally in a bid to reach the play-offs as one of the four best second-placed teams. Fabian Schär set them on their way 15 minutes in, Steven Zuber scored a second from the penalty spot after half-time and Haris Seferovic added the gloss with two minutes left.

Pierluigi Tami's charges went in front by virtue of Estonia's failure to clear one of numerous corners. Amir Abrashi chanced his arm from just outside the penalty area and Mait Toom could only parry into the path of Schär, who headed in.

Zuber's spot kick made it 2-0 after Karol Mets had been penalised for a foul in the penalty area. The Swiss No7 was again involved in Switzerland's third, Toom spilling his shot into the path of substitute Seferovic.
