Italy and San Marino will stage the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship after being selected as final tournament hosts by the UEFA Executive Committee at its 9 December 2016 meeting in Nyon, Switzerland.

The 2019 finals will feature 12 teams, the second tournament to do so after the 2017 event in Poland, won by Germany. The U21 EURO will also act as UEFA's qualifier for the 2020 Olympic men's football tournament in Japan.

Italy, the only side to win the trophy five times, will qualify automatically as co-hosts, though San Marino play in qualifying.
