Last season's UEFA Women's Champions League runners-up Olympique Lyonnais have shown their ambition to go one better in 2010/11 with the signing of French internationals Eugénie Le Sommer and Sabrina Viguier.

Forward Le Sommer, 21, joins from Stade Briochin after a fine season when she finished as Division 1 Féminine top scorer with 19 goals and was voted the league's player of the year. Six months after her senior international debut, Le Sommer helped France to the UEFA Women's EURO 2009 quarter-finals and has scored in their last four FIFA Women's World Cup qualifiers alongside new club-mates, including Élodie Thomis and Louisa Nécib.

Defender Viguier is another of her international squad-mates and the 29-year-old veteran of the last three UEFA European Women's Championships and 2003 World Cup moves from Montpellier HSC, whom she helped to the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-finals last term. She joined that club in 2006 from Toulouse FC, where Viguier won three straight French titles between 1999/00 and 2001/02.

Under new coach Patrice Lair, Lyon will aim for a fifth consecutive championship next season. They begin their UEFA Women's Champions League campaign in the round of 32 in September, with the draw on 19 August.
