Continuing her superb form in 2012, 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam's Antonia Göransson felt her team were worth more than a 2-0 defeat of FC Rossiyanka in the first leg of their UEFA Women's Champion's League quarter-final. Göransson's Swedish international counterpart, Sofia Jakobsson, bemoaned the Russian side's elongated domestic winter break but believes they can turn the tie next Thursday.

Antonia Göransson, Potsdam midfielder
I don't think it was an easy game but the outcome was good – 2-0 in a quarter-final is an excellent result. Sure, the pace slowed in the second half, but perhaps we relaxed slightly on our lead and played more defensively. My Swedish compatriot, Sofia Jakobsson, was always a threat to us. But with the chances we had, I think we should have scored more goals in the second half.

Sofia Jakobsson, Rossiyanka forward
Potsdam are a really tough team and I knew if I'd taken the opportunity I had in the second half then we'd have a good chance back in Russia for the second leg. It wasn't to be but I hope that I get some more chances to score at home. From a positive point of view, I think we were much better in the second half than the first. Perhaps our lack of competitive action showed in the end. But everything is possible in the Champions League.
