Lyon's Tonazzi ruled out of London final

Olympique Lyonnais will go into Thursday's UEFA Women's Champions League final without Laëtitia Tonazzi due to a calf injury but they are confident Lara Dickenmann will be fit.

Olympique Lyonnais striker Laëtitia Tonazzi will miss Thursday's UEFA Women's Champions League final due to a calf injury.

The 32-year-old sustained the problem during Lyon's 6-0 league win at Arras FCF on 5 May, and a club statement read: "Scans yesterday showed healing was not complete." Tonazzi, a summer signing from FCF Juvisy Essonne, has scored six European goals this season as well as 17 in as many First Division fixtures for the French champions.

A scorer in the 2011 final, Swiss midfield player Lara Dickenmann is also recovering from a calf complaint but should be available for the showdown with VfL Wolfsburg at Stamford Bridge, as Lyon bid for an unprecedented third title. They leave France for London today.

Following their 9-0 victory over FF Issy-les-Moulineaux at Stade de Gerland on Saturday, Lyon flew to their camp in Brittany on Sunday to put the finishing touches to their preparations; it was there that Lotta Schelin learned she had been voted league player of the year by her fellow professionals. "It's an honour," the Sweden forward said. "I want to share it not only with my team-mates but with all the club staff."
