Colin Bell has left UEFA Women's Champions League holders Frankfurt by mutual consent, with the 54-year-old's contract to be formally dissolved at the end of the month.

The 54-year-old Englishman took over at FFC in summer 2013 after a spell at Bad Neuenahr and went on to win the 2014 German Cup and the top prize in European women's club football this summer. Frankfurt are fourth in the Frauen-Bundesliga table at the moment, nine points adrift of league leaders Bayern München. They take on Rosengård in this season's UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-finals in March.

"I have had a great time at 1. FFC Frankfurt and am very proud and grateful to have worked with this great team and staff," said Bell, who will be temporarily replaced by assistants Matt Ross and Kai Rennich. "I wish 1. FFC Frankfurt and my former players the very best and will stay in touch with the club. For me, it is now important to enter into a new challenge following this enjoyable and successful time with Frankfurt."
