Trio set up Frankfurt fixtures

Universitet Vitebsk, HJK Helsinki and Breidablik have clinched places in the second qualifying round with a match to spare and RCD Espanyol are also through.

Finland's HJK Helsinki, Icelandic champions Breidablik, Universitet Vitebsk of Belarus and RCD Espanyol have taken their places in the UEFA Women's Cup second qualifying round with a game to spare, but there are thrilling finishes due in the other five groups.

HJK face Frankfurt
HJK, semi-finalists in 2001/02, had already defeated Switzerland's FFC Zuchwil 05 2-0 in their opener on Tuesday and Heidi Ahonen's 81st-minute winner against KS AZS Wrocław on Thursday gave them a 1-0 success which ensured top spot in Group A4 regardless of their result on Saturday when they play Macedonian pool hosts ZFK Shkiponjat. They progress to next month's second stage, Group B1, where they will tackle holders 1. FFC Frankfurt as well as Breidablik and Vitebsk.

Duo through
Breidablik, who won only one fixture in three on their previous appearance four years ago, followed up their 4-0 triumph against Portugal's SU 1° Dezembro with a Group A3-clinching 3-0 win over Austrian hosts SV Neulengbach. Vitebsk went out in the first qualifying round on their debut last term but this time 1-0 scorelines against Lithuania's Gintra Universitetas and Italy's ASD Fiammamonza have guaranteed progress from Group A5.

Leading contenders
Espanyol, representing Spain for the first time, followed their curtain-raising 4-1 success against Group A2 hosts Hibernian LFC by beating Marinette Pichon's Juvisy FCF 1-0. They will take on Sweden's two-time European champions Umeå IK and Norway's Kolbotn IK in their next group. The other second qualifying round berths will be decided on Sunday. In Group A1, Dutch outfit Saestum and Welsh champions Cardiff City LFC meet having both won two matches, as do Belgium's KFC Rapide Wezemaal and Serbia's ZFK Mašinac-Classic Niš in Group A6. In the other pools, Russia's WFC Rossiyanka, Ukraine's Legend-Chekseal Chernigov and 1. FC Femina Budapest also lead with 100 per cent records and will seek to join the seven seeds, including Frankfurt, in the next phase.
