Arsenal reach another final

UEFA Women's Cup finalists Arsenal LFC's quest for a clean sweep of honours on remains on course after they reached the FA Women's Premier League Cup final.

UEFA Women's Cup finalists Arsenal LFC's quest for a clean sweep of honours this season remains on course after they reached the FA Women's Premier League Cup final this weekend.

Fleeting hat-trick
Arsenal, who defeated Brøndby IF last month to set up a European decider against Umeå IK in April, lost their hold on the League Cup in 2005/06 with a 2-1 final defeat by Charlton Athletic WFC. But they will have another chance after their 4-1 win against Chelsea LFC on Sunday, with Julie Fleeting having scored twice in the first 20 minutes. Ciara Grant made it three and Fleeting completed her hat-trick before an Ellen White consolation.

Leeds rematch
In a rematch of last season's FA Women's Cup final - which they won 5-0 - Arsenal will meet Leeds United LFC on 5 March after they defeated Charlton on penalties following a 2-2 draw at Gravesend. Arsenal began the season by defeating Everton LFC 3-0 to win the FA Women's Community Shield in August, while in the league the Gunners have won all six fixtures so far, scoring 42 goals and conceding one, though they trail four teams who have played more games, while dropping at least five points.

FA Cup bid
Arsenal's next scheduled league fixture is at home to Blackburn Rovers LFC on Sunday, while on 7 January they begin their bid for the fifth competition they are hoping to win this season, the FA Women's Cup, at Stockport County LFC. The final will be played at Nottingham Forest FC on 7 May, televised nationally on BBC One.
