Italian representatives Bardolino secured the fourth largest margin of victory in the tournament's history as they won 16-0 against Malta's first UEFA Women's Cup entrants Birkirkara FC, five of the goals from Melania Gabbiadini. Spain's Athletic Club BFKEB, who will meet Bardolino on Matchday 3 on Tuesday, overcame Slovenian hosts ŽNK KRKA Novo Mesto 4-0 with goals in the final 22 minutes by Eba, Irune Murua, Nekane and Erika.
Lyon are ambitious for success on their European debut and defeated Slovakia's FK Slovan Duslo Šala 12-0, Katia and Louisa Necib both claiming hat-tricks. Maccabi Holon FC made the most of home advantage in Israel as they overcame Cypriot champions AEK Kokkinochovion 5-1, aided by two goals from Shirli Ohana. Former quarter-finalists AC Sparta Praha needed an equaliser six minutes from time to gain a 1-1 draw with Romania's CFF Clujana, who had led on 22 minutes though Florentina Spanu.
