Which player most inspired you and why? David Beckham, because he has done so much for the sport, particularly in other countries such as the United States, where he has greatly increased the profile of the game.

Which coach most inspired you? Mo Marley.

What was the best advice they gave you? To have confidence and believe you are better than your opposition, because then you have won the mental battle.

Best player you've played with? Jordan Nobbs. For such a young player she has brilliant technique and a great attitude. She dominates the midfield even when she's up against players who are far more experienced. She is definitely one to look out for the in future.

Toughest opponent? Kelly Smith. I played against her when I was 16. She was constantly moving and making runs. She never stopped and it was a nightmare to defend against. Watching her when I was growing up, she was a brilliant player and has done a lot to raise the profile of women's football.

What are your memories of your first club as a child? My first club was a local boys' team called Shellford Rangers. I actually remember the first training session, which was at our local park and I remember all the parents and boys being shocked at how good I was for a girl. I also have great memories winning the league and cup with Shellford. We had a very good team and I was gutted when I had to leave.

What tip would you give a young player hoping to succeed? Enjoy every game you play in. But if you really want to make it to a good level, you need to put in that extra effort and make sure you stand out from the rest. Lead by example and all your hard work will eventually pay off.
