The striker cuts inside the challenge of Anita Asante and Faye White to curl a left-foot shot beyond the dive of Rachel Brown. Grings has now equalled the record of her compatriot, Heidi Mohr, of ten goals in UEFA European Women's Championship final tournaments.

Inka Grings becomes the first player to score five in the final tournament of a UEFA European Women's Championship, nipping in ahead of Faye White to head a right-wing cross from Kerstin Garefrekes over Rachel Brown. Germany's two-goal lead is once more restored.

Karen Carney plays the ball into Kelly Smith just outside the penalty area and the England No10 turns exquisitely away from her marker and rifles a shot across Nadine Angerer and into the far corner. It is her third goal of the tournament, bringing her within one of leading scorer Inka Grings.

Simone Laudehr's effort strikes the post, rolls along the line and flicks up off Casey Stoney's left leg for 19-year-old Kim Kulig to increase Germany's lead from close range.

England hit back with Kelly Smith showing close control in the penalty area to slide the ball through Nadine Angerer's legs and across goal to where Karen Carney gratefully taps in at the far post. Game on again.

Simone Laudehr plays Inka Grings in down the right and in one movement she turns and squares the ball across the penalty area for Birgit Prinz to slide the ball past Rachel Brown. It is Prinz's ninth goal in a UEFA European Women's Championship final tournament and 39th in total in the competition. She has now scored in four of the five showpieces in which she has appeared.
