Denmark keep up perfect record

Slovakia 1-4 Denmark
The away side kept up their 100 per cent record in qualifying Group 5 with a solid victory in Slovakia.

Denmark kept up their 100 per cent record in UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ qualifying Group 5 with a 4-1 away win against Slovakia.

Quick start
Both sides started the match sitting on six points in the section and trailing leaders Ukraine by the same margin, but the away side had played three fewer games than their hosts and quick took charge in Senec. Despite missing a fifth-minute penalty, Denmark were in front soon after through Maiken Pape. Johanna Rasmussen then doubled the lead in the 15th minute and the same two players both struck another goal each after the break as the visitors turned on the style.

Consolation
Slovakia scored with twenty minutes to go – Maria Zubková striking the home side's consolation – but head coach Zsolt Pakusza admitted his team were second best. "It's a pity – we were missing some players due to injury and suspension," Pakusza said. "But Denmark deserved their victory – they played better than us and have a very strong team."
