Frankie Brown

National team: Scotland

Which player most inspired you and why? I grew up inspired by Julie Fleeting. She was the Scotland captain and playing pro in America.

Which coach most inspired you? My Scotland coach Anna Signeul.

What was the best advice they gave you? Don't let things get to you. Just think: "I'm above it."

Best player you've played with? My Scotland team-mate Kim Little. She always provides a bit of magic.

Toughest opponent? Brazil in the heat of Brasilia. I was marking Marta.

What are your memories of your first club as a child? My first club was Falkirk girls. My best memory is a cup final victory against our local rivals. We had all dyed our hair blue for the occasion; I still have the old video somewhere at home!

What tip would you give a young player hoping to succeed? Always practise with both feet. Never ever ever give up.

What was the experience like of playing in a youth final tournament? I was part of the first ever Scotland U19s to make the final tournament. It was amazing; it was my first experience of playing against top teams. We didn't win a game or even score a goal, but it was such a learning curve for all of us. It really inspired me to be the best I could be so I could compete with those top teams in the future.
