Denmark, Greece into second qualifying round

Mini-tournament hosts Denmark topped Group 10 on goals scored ahead of fellow qualifiers Greece thanks to emphatic victories against the Faroe Islands and final-day opponents Wales.

Denmark and Greece are the latest teams to make progress in the 2013 UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship after coming through qualifying round Group 10.

Mini-tournament hosts Denmark topped the section on goals scored, half of their 18-strong tally coming in a 9-0 defeat of the Faroe Islands on matchday one.

The impressive Signe Bruun registered a hat-trick in that crushing victory and was on the mark again two days later alongside captain Emilie Henriksen, whose added-time penalty salvaged a 2-2 draw against Greece. Anders With Damgaard's team finished with a flourish too, beating Wales 7-1 thanks partly to Rikke Dybdahl's treble and another Bruun effort.

Greece got their campaign under way with a 1-0 triumph over Wales and finished with another slender victory, 3-2 against the Faroe Islands, for whom skipper Lív Arge scored twice, her second a late spot kick after Kalliopi Konstantopoulou had been dismissed for a foul on Milja Simonsen.

The first qualifying round draws to a close on Sunday when Groups 4 and 7 conclude.
